Dr. Ward has a wealth of knowledge in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures, which she readily combines to achieve optimal results.
After leaving The St Michael School, she completed A levels at the Barbados Community College in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and was awarded a Barbados Government Exhibition.
She entered the University of the West Indies Mona campus, Jamaica and continued at Cave Hill campus, Barbados (QEH) where she gained her medical degree, MBBS with double honours in Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynaecology, in 1998. Dr. Ward also won the surgery medal for all three campuses.
Dr. Ward enrolled at the University of Toronto, Canada in 2001 and completed 2 years of general surgery followed by 3 years of plastic surgery training within the metropolitan hospitals. This culminated in gaining board certification in plastic and reconstructive surgery from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Ward then completed a further year of sub-speciality training in craniofacial surgery (facial trauma and congenital reconstruction) at Miami Children's Hospital and South Miami Hospital.
Since 2007 she has worked as the sole plastic surgeon at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados where she offers reconstructive surgical procedures. In the private sector, she performs both reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries.
Dr. Ward is also an associate lecturer at the University of the West Indies and is committed to continual medical education. She plays an active role in the maintenance of certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
